Xiaomi releases MIUI 8.0 Global Beta ROM 6.9.9 for Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon Edition

  If you happen to own a Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon edition, then you'll be happy to know that Xiaomi has just announced MIUI 8 Global Beta is now rolling out to everyone.

 The new beta update version 6.9.9 is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, so expect quite a few new  features and improvements to be included. However, there are many reports coming from Redmi Note 3 users who complain the update comes with a few issues as well, but that's understandable considering this is a beta build.

According to Xiaomi, MIUI 8.0 Global Beta 6.9.9 brings several new features and improvements, aside from those included in Android 6.0 Marshmallow. For example, the update adds a new swipe to the edge of the screen gesture, which hides Quick ball.

Also, Redmi Note 3 users can now tap the date in the status bar to open the Calendar. There's also a new feature that allows you to hold the empty spot on the Home screen to enter the editing mode. 



When it comes to audio, Xiaomi made some under the hood optimization, which now allows users to record music in stereo quality. Aside from these new features, the Chinese company included some fixes as well.

Fix - Issues with volume level notification in Second space when using earphones;
Fix - Device didn't respond after updating and rebooting;
Fix - FC issues when switching between themes
.


One of the most common issue reported by those who installed the new ROM is the fact that the fingerprint application crashes often. Some also complain that their phones are a bit slower with the new MIUI 8 Global Beta 6.9.9 installed.

    Apple lifted the wraps off the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at a special event in San Francisco on Wednesday. Like in the past, India is not in the first batch of countries that will get the new iPhone models, but in a surprising move, Apple has already announced the price and India launch date for its newest flagships. iPhone 7 price in India starts at Rs. 60,000, with no word yet on India price of other models. Both phones will be available in the country from October 7.

   In the US, the iPhone 7 starts at $649 (approximately Rs. 43,000) for the new 32GB entry-level variant, doing away with the 16GB model, while the iPhone 7 Plus start at $769 (approximately Rs. 51,000) for same 32GB storage. Apple has also doubled the storage variant on other models, with 128GB and 256GB models now rounding up the lineup. Pre-orders open this Friday in select countries shown in the image below and the new iPhone models will ship in these regions on September 13.

    The latest iPhone models comes with a new design, doing away with the antenna lines at the back, and they will be available in two new colours (matte) black, jet (glossy) black, in addition to gold, silver, and rose gold, seen earlier. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus also feature a redesigned home button which is now solid-state and force-sensitive. It uses tapic vibrations instead of a physical click, just like the trackpad on the latest MacBook and MacBook Pro models.Apple has also added IP67 water and dust resistance, a first for the iPhone series
